At 6:00 on August 6, the northern section of Nanjing Metro Line 5 officially commenced operation, marking the full-line opening operation. As the core supplier of door system and the construction implementer of platform screen door system project, Nanjing Kangni Mechanical & Electrical Co., Ltd. laid a solid foundation for the full-line operation of Metro Line 5.
The trains on Line 5 are equipped with a new type of externally mounted sealed door system developed by Kangni Mechanical & Electrical, featuring high sound insulation, high reliability, high safety, light weight design, and environmental friendliness. Through design optimization, stiffness and sealing performance of doors have been significantly improved, while effectively increasing the interior space of train. The lower part of door adopts a reverse-buckle design structure, which remains flush with the threshold surface, greatly reducing the risk of foreign object stagnation. The sound insulation performance reaches 31 dB, a significant improvement compared to conventional externally mounted sliding doors, providing a quieter and more comfortable environment inside the train.
The platform screen door system for Metro Line 5 is also supplied by Kangni Mechanical & Electrical. The project utilizes a full-height non-enclosed platform door system across the entire line, characterized by easy replacement, low noise, and pollution-free operation. The platform door panels adopt a segmented insulation design and are equipped with multiple passenger protection devices, including LED auxiliary observation light strips, anti-stepping gap rubber strips and light belts, and gap detectors, comprehensively enhancing operational safety. Additionally, Kangni was responsible for the construction and installation of platform screen door project for Line 5. The Xia Guan Station innovatively adopted modular installation technology. The company’s project team scientifically planned and coordinated efficiently to complete all tasks, ensuring the smooth opening and operation of Metro Line 5.
