On December 17, Kangni officially received the functional safety certification certificate for railway transport platform doors issued by the internationally authoritative industry certification body Bureau Veritas. This is the world’s first SIL4 certification certificate covering the complete system and all safety-related functions of railway transport platform doors, signifying that Kangni has reached internationally leading levels in the functional safety field of railway transport platform doors.

The Railway Functional Safety Integrity Level (SIL) is divided into five levels from SIL0 to SIL4, with SIL4 being the highest level in the field of functional safety. The SIL4 certification obtained by Kangni this time differs from safety assessments of partial modules or functions. Its scope covers safety aspects of the platform door’s core control logic (PSC/PSL), door control units (DCU), and all external interfaces such as with the signal system and gap detection system. It encompasses 14 safety-related functions of platform doors—in addition to conventional safety functions interfacing with signal system, it also includes, for the first time, safety functions such as obstacle detection, closing force control, and alignment isolation, all of which have achieved SIL4 level. The certification is based on internationally recognized railway industry standards such as EN50126, EN50716, and EN50129, and was conducted by Bureau Veritas, accredited by Accredia, as a third-party safety certification. This fully verifies that Kangni’s platform doors meet the stringent SIL4-level requirements in overall safety design, verification, and execution.

The platform door system that received this certification is the result of Kangni’s years of technological innovation and dedication. Based on innovative control technologies, this system has obtained authorization for 7 national invention patents and has applied for 3 international invention patents, achieving several key technological innovations at the architectural level.
